Kim Kullmer
New York, NY
Raised in the Midwest as an only child and surrounded by many animals, Kim used painting as an outlet for expression. She started painting seriously when she was offered
a summer painting position at age 12. She worked with her elementary and middle school art teacher, Dandeena Schadle, where she fine-tuned her basic painting techniques working as a face and body painter for 12 years. Color was always an important part of her art and she quickly became known for her butterflies and attention to detail in their wings.
Kim attended the University of Iowa and pursued her other art of vocal music. She also began volunteering in the non-profit sector doing the event production for large music shows and environmental events. Her background in art helped during these events and
as she was able to paint pieces used to set up the ambiance of the events. Kim graduated in 2006 with a B.A. in Music and moved to New York in the fall of 2008. In her spare time she enjoys playing guitar, singing and volunteering for events that benefit the environment.
She now resides in New York with her boyfriend and cat and continues to paint in their small apartment. If interested in having something commissioned, just contact me.
